A plain-English guide to our surfaces and finishes, how big you can safely print your photos, and the small habits that make a file shine on paper.
Surfaces
Papers & materials, at a glance
Every order is printed on true photographic stock or premium material — never inkjet office paper. Here is how each surface behaves.
Glossy C-Type
High shine
Punchy, saturated color and deep, glassy blacks with a reflective sheen that makes bold shots pop.
Best for: Vivid travel, sunsets, high-contrast color
Matte C-Type
No glare
Soft, even contrast with zero reflections and a fingerprint-proof surface that reads calm and modern.
Best for: Portraits, newborns, prints behind glass
Lustre / Satin
Pearl texture
The pro-lab favorite — a fine pearl tooth that resists glare while keeping color rich and true.
Best for: Weddings, everyday keepers, mixed lighting
Fine-Art Cotton Rag
Archival matte
Heavyweight 100% cotton with a subtle painterly tooth and a 100+ year archival rating.
Best for: Black & white, fine-art editions, framing
Poly-Cotton Canvas
Gallery wrap
A glare-free matte weave hand-stretched over kiln-dried bars for soft, gallery-style depth.
Best for: Statement walls, pets, large family shots
Aluminum Metal
Infused gloss
Your image dye-infused into the metal for luminous color that genuinely glows — and shrugs off water.
Best for: Modern spaces, kitchens, bright rooms

File prep
Do's & don'ts for print-perfect files
You don't need a fancy camera — just a few good habits. Follow the left column, skip the right, and your prints will thank you.
Do this
Export at the highest resolution and quality your device allows.
Shoot in soft, even light — near a window beats harsh overhead.
Send the original file straight from your camera roll, not a re-save.
Leave a little breathing room around your subject for cropping.
Check our print ratios before cropping to avoid surprise trims.
Skip this
Skip screenshots — they are low-res copies, not the original.
Go easy on heavy filters and beauty smoothing before printing.
Don't blow up a tiny 0.5 MP image to a 24×36 poster.
Avoid re-downloading images from social apps — they compress hard.
Don't zoom-crop into a phone photo and expect edge-to-edge sharpness.
Your files are ready. Let's make prints.
Upload your photos and we'll flag anything too small before it ever prints — no guesswork, no wasted paper.
